RALEIGH, N.C. -
Redshirt freshman Christina Fiduccia, a member of the NC State women's cross country team, will travel abroad this weekend to compete in the IAAF Junior World Cross Country Championships in Saint Galmier, France. The 6 km race, which will take place on Saturday, March 19 at 2:30 p.m., will feature some of the top junior talent from across the globe.
This past February 12, Fiduccia placed seventh overall in the junior women's 6km run at the USA Track and Field Championships in Vancouver, Wash. Her solid time of 22:19.2 paved the way for an invitation to this weekend's competition.
Fiduccia ran in two meets this past season, taking fifth-place at the North Carolina Collegiate Championships. Hailing from Barrington, Ill., Fiduccia also ran in the Great American Cross Country Championships. Although she did see some action during the year, she took a redshirt and did not dress in uniform for the red and white.
