NC State Men's Cross Country Earns All-Academic Team Honors
March 7, 2006 RALEIGH, N.C. - With three athletes sporting perfect 4.0 grade-point averages, seven on the Dean's List, and the team's GPA sitting at a lofty 3.36, the NC State men's cross country team was named an All-Academic Cross Country Team, With Distinction, by the United States Cross Country Coaches Association. To be named All-Academic Team With Distinction, a team must have a GPA of 3.25 or higher. Senior John Henderson and redshirt-sophomores John Crews and Tibor Veigh each have GPAs of 4.0; freshman Robert Bedsole, redshirt-sophomore Chris Kollar, and redshirt-juniors Bobby Mack and Wesley Smith all are Dean's List students. NC State is one of 27 men's cross country programs nationally and the only school from the Atlantic Coast Conference to earn All-Academic Cross Country Team, With Distinction. An additional 35 programs earned All-Academic Cross Country Team, which requires a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.
