Clara Horowitz won the USATF Cross Country Championship in 23:34

HOUSTON, TEXAS - Clara Horowitz won the 6 km USATF Junior Cross Country Championship in Houston, Texas on Saturday, Feb. 15. With the victory, the freshman will represent the United States in the IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Horowitz cruised to a first place finish in a time of 23:34, 36 seconds faster than the second place finisher. She will compete in Switzerland from March 29-30.

Classmate Laura Stanley also competed in the meet, placing 11th overall in 25:41.

The top six finishers at the meet qualified to represent the United States in March.
