Bronx, NY - Laurel Jefferson placed fifth to lead the University of Maryland women's cross country team to a fifth place finish at the 22nd annual ECAC Championships.

The senior ran the 5k race in 18:09.8, finishing ahead of teammates Erin Matyus (18:44.0) and Ashley Campbell (18:50.2) who placed 27th and 33rd respectively.

Rounding out the top-five for the Terps at the team's season final meet, were freshmen Christina Nelson (42nd,19:03.6) and Andrea Rothschild (54th, 19:22.1).
