Bobby Thiele (Charlottesville, Va./Charlottesville) concluded his collegiate cross country career today at the NCAA Cross Country Championship in Ames, Iowa. Of the 255 runners, Thiele finished the race in 113th place with a time of 31:51.3. He was the only Cavalier to compete in the Championship.
Thiele, a 4th year, has received All-ACC honors for the past three seasons. An All-American selection last year, he was the first Virginia male runner to receive this honor in cross country since the 1984 season. Thiele led the Cavalier men throughout the 2000 season including a 5th place finish at the Southeastern Regional Championships. He will participate in both indoor and outdoor track.
