![]() Duke Women Capture ECAC Crown

NEW YORK, N.Y. - The Duke women's cross country team collected its third win of the season by capturing the ECAC Champion Division team title on Friday in Van Cortland Park. The Blue Devil men's team picked up a second-place finish IC4A Champion Division team competition.
Friday's victory marked the second win at Van Cortland Park for the Duke women this season, opening the year with a team victory in the Fordham Invitational. Duke was led by freshman Sheela Agrawal (Swansea, Mass.), who collected her third individual title of the season and Duke's first-ever ECAC individual championship by covering the course in a time of 17:42.60. Junior Megan Sullivan (Williamsburg, Va.) was the next Blue Devil harrier to cross the line in a time of 18:12.80 for sixth place.
The Duke men were led by the one-two punch of juniors Terry Brennan (Lake Forest, Ill.) and Brendan Fitzgibbon (San Francisco, Calif.), who finished eighth and ninth respectively. Brennan covered the five-mile course in a time of 25:03.30, while Fitzgibbon posted a 25:05.20 time. Senior Charlie Kelly (Marshalltown, Iowa) finished 13th with a time of 25:12.90.
Duke's top harriers return to the trails on November 1 at the ACC Cross Country Championships in Chapel Hill, N.C.
