NEW YORK - Virginia's Jennifer Owens (Charlottesville,
Va./Albemarle) finished second in the ECAC Championships held today at Van
Courtlandt Park in New York City, helping pace the Cavaliers to a
third-place finish. This is the first meet in 1999 that Owens has not won.
She was joined in the top ten by Sarah Folse (Fredericksburg,
Va./Chancellor) and Dana Coons (Vienna, Va./James Madison), who finished
ninth and tenth respectively.
On the men's side, Bobby Thiele (Charlottesville,
Va./Charlottesville) finished in 12th place while the men's team finished
in seventh overall.
The Cavaliers will return to action in two weeks to compete in the
ACC Championships on November 1 in Chapel Hill.
