GREENVILLE, S.C. - Georgia Tech's women's cross country team won its second consecutive championship as it captured the Furman Invitational Saturday held at Furman University. The Yellow Jacket's men's team took second place in its division.
Tech's Becky Megesi (Jonesboro, Ga.) finished second in the university division and fifth overall on the afternoon with a time of 18:09. Senior Judy Johnson (Snellville, Ga.) placed third in the university division and seventh overall on the day with a time of 18:15. The Atlanta Track Club won the overall title, but was not involved in the collegiate competition.
The Yellow Jacket men finished nine points behind UNC Charlotte for second place with 83 points. Sophomore Joe Stegall (Ryder, Ga.) was the top Tech finisher as he placed seventh in the overall competition and fourth in the collegiate division with a time of 25:34.
