Duke Women’s Cross Country Takes Fourth, Men Eighth At Roy Griak Invitational ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Duke women’s cross country team placed fourth out of 23 teams and the men’s team eighth out of 25 Saturday afternoon at the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational held on the Les Bolstad Golf Course on the campus of the University of Minnesota. The women’s squad, ranked No. 1 in the Southeast Region and No. 20 in the nation entering the season, saw all five scorers finish in the top 35 in the field of 222 runners over the 6K course. The Blue Devil men had four runners crack the top 50 on the day in the 229-person field that included five nationally-ranked programs as well as the reigning Division-II champions Adams State, who took first overall on the men’s side. Georgia Tech Women's Cross Country Places 14th, Men Finish 17th, at Roy Griak Invitational MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Led by freshman Mary Kate DuBard's 21st-place finish, the Georgia Tech women's cross country team placed 14th at the University of Minnesota Roy Griak Invitational on Saturday. The Yellow Jacket men finished 17th. "We felt like both teams competed well on a challenging course," head coach Alan Drosky said. "This meet will help us later in the season." NC State Cross Country Rolls at ECU Invitational NC State's men's and women's cross country teams easily won their respective races Saturday at the ECU Invitational. The men's team, led by redshirt-junior John Martinez, scored its second perfect score of 15 in as many races. The women's team had several top runners either unattached or not running in this race, Recent NC State graduates Jemissa Hess (17:00) and Angelina Blackmon (17:17) finished first and second, handily outdistancing the remainder of the field. Young Runners Get Into Action At FSU Invitational TALLAHASSEE, Fla. − The men’s and women’s cross country teams at Florida State saw action today (Sept. 27) at the Miccosukee Greenway Park as the race was dominated by younger members of both teams while the varsity continued training for next week’s Notre Dame Invitational. The women, although not using any of their top 9 runners, placed fourth in the women’s portion of the event, which went 5K. Leading the way for FSU was Jessica Dunn, who finished fifth with a time of 18:16.25. Dunn was followed by Crystal Washington’s 15th place finish in a time of 18:44.42.
