Seminole Cross Country Sweeps Virginia Tech Invitational

BLACKSBURG, Va. − Both the Florida State men's and women's cross country teams remained undefeated as the Seminoles swept both races at the Virginia Tech Alumni Invitational earlier today (Sept. 19). Virginia Tech swept second place and Wake Forest was third in both races.

The men were dominant in victory as four Seminoles cross the finish line before anybody from another competing school was able to do so. Senior Luke Gunn was the first of the Florida State runners to finish as he won the race individually with a time of 24:06.6 in the 7.6K race. The Seminoles ran in a tight pack during the women's race, finishing in fifth through eighth place. Junior Susan Kuijken was the top scorer for the Seminoles as she finished with a time of 16:53.0 in the 4.6K race.

Clemson Cross Country Teams Sweep Top Spots at Delaware Invitational

Newark, DE - The Clemson cross country teams had an outstanding Saturday afternoon, with both teams producing team and individual champions at the Delaware Invitational. Sam Bryfczynski won the men's individual title to lead the Tigers to victory over host Delaware, while Jenna Baker won her first cross country event to propel the Clemson women ahead of the Blue Hens as well.

Bryfczynski, a former winner at the Clemson Invitational as a sophomore, put together a time of 25:46 at the finish line over an 8000m distance. He is the first individual champion for the men's team this season. The Tigers tallied 19 points and cruised past Delaware, who totaled 47. Navy, a historically strong cross country program, had 65 total points Saturday.

Hurricanes Wrap Up Mountain Dew Invite

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The University of Miami cross country competed in the Mountain Dew Invitational Saturday morning on the campus of the University of Florida. As a team, the women finished in sixth place while the men finished ninth.

Junior Ena Leufroy and freshman Anna Bona finished back-to-back in the 5K race with times of 19:14.39 and 19:16.01 as the top finishers for the women in 26th and 27 place respectively. Of the 125 runners sophomore Emma Steppe came in 46th place at 19:52.33.

BC Women Take Third, Men 13th at John Doyle Meet of Champions

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Graduate student Mary Heitkamp led three Eagles who finished in the top 25 as the No. 25 women's cross country team finished third in Iona's 14th Annual Br. John Doyle Meet of Champions held at Van Cortlandt Park in New York City.

Senior Timothy Ritchie finished in seventh place at Iona's 14th Annual Br. John Doyle Meet of Champions held at Van Cortlandt Park in New York City. Ritchie finished the 8k course in 24:58.2 and Boston College finished in 13th place as a team.

Tech Women Place Third, Men Fourth At The Tennessee Invitational

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The Georgia Tech women's cross country team finished third, while the men's team placed fourth at the Tennessee Invitational Friday evening at the Lambert Acres Golf Club in Knoxville, Tenn.

"Our B teams for both men and women had a great opportunity today to compete in the Tennessee Invitational," head coach Alan Drosky said. "And on a very challenging course a number of them took advantage of that."
