Florida State Cross Country Teams Place First At Their First Meet Of The Season

BOONE, N.C. - The Florida State cross country teams celebrated yet another great season opener as both teams placed first at the Covered Bridge Open hosted by Appalachian State. This is the eighth-consecutive top-five finish for the Seminoles not to mention an accomplishment in itself having both the men's and women's team both taking the top spot.

Duke Men, Wake Forest Women Win at Wake Forest Relays

WINSTON-SALEM - Despite the race time temperature of 84 degrees Fahrenheit, the Wake Forest women's cross country team started their season off with an impressive victory at the Wake Forest Relays. The squad earned four of the top five individual finishes and the top two group performances.

The Duke men’s cross country team won its first meet of the 2008 season, placing first at the Wake Forest XC Relays on Friday evening with a team score of 11 in the five-team field.

Terps Open Cross Country Season at Mount Duals

EMMITSBURG, Md. - Alex Lundy on Friday became the second University of Maryland men's runner in as many years to earn the individual title at the Mount Saint Mary's Duals cross country event.

As a team, the Maryland men finished 3-2 in the dual-meet scoring among the six teams that participated.

The Maryland women finished the team scoring 5-1 among the seven teams competing, losing the dual-meet scoring only to Navy, which had six finishers among the top seven, including a sweep from third to seventh.
