Wake Forest Women's Track and Field Places Three Athletes on 2006 DI USTFCCCA Women's All-Academic Track & Field Team
July 13, 2006 WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest women's track and field athletes Caitlin Chrisman, Nicole Schappert and Michelle Sikes were all named to the 2006 Division I USTFCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team. The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) honors individuals and teams for their academic and athletic accomplishments during the indoor and outdoor track seasons. Chrisman earned a 3.633 spring grade point average in sociology and qualified for the NCAA East Regional in the 5,000 meters. Selected to the All-ACC Academic Team, Chrisman was also a member of the Wake Forest Dean's List and the ACC Honor Roll. Schappert, a native of Del Ray Beach, Fla. earned a 3.37 spring gpa and placed sixth at the ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the 1,500 meters. Schappert also was a member of the Wake Forest Dean's List and the ACC Honor Roll. Sikes, one of the most decorated track and field athletes this spring, earned a 3.701 grade point average in mathematical economics and owns a 3.902 cumulative gpa. On the field, Sikes finished the ACC Championships and fifth in the NCAA Championships to become the 19th Demon Deacon and only in 2005-06 to earn All-American honors.
