Sacramento, Calif. (hurricanesports.com) - University of Miami sprinter Lauryn Williams (Rochester, Pa.) finished third in the 100-meter final at the USA Track and Field Olympic Trials to earn a place on the United States Olympic team that will compete in Athens, Greece August 20-29.

Williams, who finished with a time of 11.10, will be making her first trip to the Olympic games. The nine-time All-American and 2004 NCAA National Champion in the 100-meters has won three gold medals while representing the United States in international competition.

At last summers Pan American games Williams captured gold medals in the 100-meters and 4x100-meter relay. As a sophomore in 2002 she won the World Junior title in the 100-meters.

In addition, Williams won a silver medal at last summers World Championships as a member of the USA 4x100-meter relay.
