Tallahassee, Fla. - The 2007 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Men's Cross Country/Track & Field Teams, as selected by the College Sports information Directors of America®, were announced on June 25. Earning second team honors from Florida State were sophomore Javier Garcia-Tunon and senior Tom Lancashire.

Garcia-Tunon, a business management major, maintained a perfect 4.00 GPA this year and was a first-team Academic All-American in 2006.

Lancashire, also a first-team honoree last year, held a 3.93 GPA in exercise science, earned second-team honors in 2005 and was a first-team member last season following his runner-up performance at the NCAA Championships.

"Once again we have multiple Academic All-Americans on our men's track team," head coach Bob Braman said. "To me nothing could be more gratifying then to win a national championship and also have the opportunity to coach some of the best students in the nation. It continues to be a source of pride for our entire staff when guys like Javier and Tom are honored multiple times."

Garcia-Tunon and Lancashire were also named to the All-ACC Academic Track and Field Team released by the Atlantic Coast Conference on June 29.
