GREENSBORO, N.C. - North Carolina seniors Georgia Kloss and Ian Reynolds, sophomore Erek Latzka and freshman Mateo Sossah were each named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Track and Field Teams, the league office announced Friday. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his or her academic career.

The honor for Kloss comes on the heels of her recent selection to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America team for women's track and field and cross country, announced Wednesday by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Kloss is a four-time All-America honoree at Carolina and a three-time All-ACC selection. She was a member of the distance medley relay team that set an American record at the 2007 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in March while winning a second consecutive NCAA title.

Reynolds emerged as UNC's top shot-putter in 2007, qualifying for the NCAA East Regional during the outdoor season with a career-best 56-3 1/4 mark. He finished fourth at the indoor ACC Championships and followed that up with an eighth-place showing at the ACC Outdoor Championships.

Latzka competed in the javelin for the Tar Heel men, posting the eighth-best mark in the ACC in the event in 2007. He also finished fifth at the ACC Championships to score points for Carolina.

Sossah burst onto the scene in the men's heptathlon during the indoor season, finishing fourth in the event at the ACC Championships. His outdoor season brought even more success in the multis as the freshman from Mons-en-Baroeul, France, claimed the ACC title in the decathlon, helping him earn conference Freshman of the Year honors. Sossah continued his superb season with a ninth-place finish at the NCAA Championships in Sacramento, Calif.
