Carielle Doe advanced to the semifinals of the 400m dash at US Nationals

Virginia's Carielle Doe ran a 53.77 in the 400 and advanced to the semifinal round at the USA Track and Field national championships, which are being held at Stanford in Palo Alto, CA. Doe, who has run a season-best 53.22 in 2003, will run in the semifinals on Friday, June 20 at 8:05 PT.

Virginia assistant coach Dana Coons, running for adidas, finished 10th overall in the 10K with a time of 34:13.06.

Eliese Mitchell will compete in the shot put tonight, Friday, June 20, starting at 6:30 PT. Kiamesha Otey, who earned All-American status in the long jump last week at the NCAA Championships, will jump tomorrow, Saturday, June 21 at 11:50am PT. The first round of the 200m dash will take place at 3:45PT on Saturday as well. All-American Dawn Cleary will run in the steeplechase at 1:00 PT on Saturday, one week after her school-record 10:00.09 at the NCAA championships.
