The Atlantic Coast Conference will have representatives from 10 men's teams and eight women's teams at the 2008 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Des Moines, Iowa, this week. Competition begins on Wednesday, June 11 and continues through Saturday, June 14.
Defending national champion Florida State is well-represented in this year's championship with 16 individuals accounting for 15 entries and three alternate spots. NC State and Clemson account for five entries apiece and Georgia Tech has four. Also represented will be North Carolina (3), Virginia Tech (3) and Virginia (2). Miami, Maryland and Duke each have one representative.
In women's action, ACC champion Virginia Tech boasts 15 entries among 13 individuals, while Florida State has 11 individuals and two alternates competing in its eight entries. Six Cavaliers and five Tar Heels are competing at the championship. Georgia Tech (3), Boston College (3), Clemson (2) and NC State (1) also have representatives competing.
