Dezerea Bryant and Will Mulherin Earn ACC Weekly Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Clemson freshman Dezerea Bryant and Virginia Tech senior Will Mulherin have been named the ACC Track & Field Performers of the Week, announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
Bryant won 200-meter dash and was runner-up in the 100 while also leading Clemson to victory in the 4x100-meter relay at the Jim Click Shootout. Her winning time of 23.24 in the 200 sits in eighth on Clemson’s all-time performance list, and is the fourth-best time in the NCAA this year. The Milwaukee, Wisc., native finished the 100 in 11.46, the top time in the conference this year, and helped the relay team post the third best time in program history and fifth best in college this season.
Mulherin reset his own school record and won the 5000 meters at the Raleigh Relays in a time of 13:49.95.The Yorktown, Va., native beat his previous best of 13:50.76, which he set at the 2010 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Mulherin’s time is also a provisional qualifying time for the U.S. Olympic Trials in June and currently ranks as the top 5k time in Division I.
