GREENSBORO, N.C. — Virginia Tech senior Igor Misljenovic and Duke junior  were named Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track & Field Performers of the Week for the period ending February 21, announced today. The pair competed at the Virginia Tech Challenge, the final meet before the 2010 ACC Indoor Track & Field Championship, which gets under way, on Thursday, February 25.

Misljenovic won the shot put and beat a field of 17 competitors at last weekend’s Virginia Tech Challenge. His 60-foot, 1.25-inch heave is a provisional qualifying mark for the 2010 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship. The Zagreb, Croatia native’s mark bested the runner-up by nearly three feet.

Devotia MooreMoore achieved a provisional qualifying mark in the 800-meter run as she placed second among a field of 34 in a time of 2:07.22, the second-fastest time in school history. Additionally, the Queens, N.Y., native helped the 4x400-meter relay squad place fourth, as Moore clocked a 55.56 split.

ACC Indoor Track and Field action continues this weekend at the 2010 ACC Indoor Track & Field Championship. The three-day meet—hosted by Virginia Tech at Rector Field House—will run from Thursday-Saturday, February 25-27. All Championship information can be accessed at the official championship webpage.
