FSU Men, Tech Women Lead After First Day of 2003 ACC Indoor Track and Field Championship

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - After the first day of competition at the 2003 Atlantic Coast Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, Florida State leads the race for the men's title with 45 points, while Georgia Tech is in first place with 39.5 points on the women's side.

Highlights from the first day's action include three NCAA automatic qualifying times by North Carolina's Laura Gerraughty, who threw 17.60 in the shot put event, Lacy Janson in the shot put, who recorded 4.27 and Kristin Price in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 16.09.80.

The ACC Indoor Championships will conclude Saturday, February 22. The day's events will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the men's 35-pound weight throw.
