GREENSBORO, N.C. -Miami's Murielle Ahoure has been selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Indoor Track & Field Performer of the Week, while Florida State's Ngonidzashe Makusha has been chosen as the Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Indoor Track & Field Performer of the Week.

Ahoure, a senior for the Hurricanes from Bristow, Va., won her third performer of the week honor of the season with the second fastest 200m time in the world this year at 23.14. She earned the nation's fastest time in the event and became the only automatic qualifier in the event this year. She also posted an automatic qualifying time in the 60m in 7.24 seconds. Her top time in the 60m (7.17), turned in earlier this season, still ranks as the fastest in the world. Both winning times came at the Texas A&M Invitational.

Makusha, a Seminole sophomore from Mandedza, Zimbabwe, scored the league's best mark in the long jump at the Tyson Invitational to earn his first league honor of 2009. His leap of 25-0.75 provisionally qualified the 2008 Indoor All-American for this year's Indoor NCAA Championships. The jump is also the sixth-longest collegiate jump this season.

The league will now conclude final preparations for the ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships, which open on Thursday, February, 26 and run through Saturday, Feb. 28, at Virginia Tech's Rector Field House. ACC Select will provide video coverage of the event. For more information, please visit the ACC Select site
