Florida State Men and North Carolina Women Take Early Lead at 2003 ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championship

Raleigh, N.C. - The Florida State men and North Carolina women have the lead after the first day of competition at the 2003 Atlantic Coast Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship being held at NC State University in Raleigh, N.C.

The Seminole men finished the day with 74 points, leading NC State by 34. Clemson is third with 39 points, followed by Virginia (34), North Carolina (28), Georgia Tech (26), Duke (20) and Wake Forest (12). The Tar Heel women have 107 points, 43 points higher than their closest competition, Virginia (64). They are trailed by Florida State (45), Clemson (26), NC State (21), Georgia Tech (16), Maryland and Wake Forest with 11 each and Duke (10).
