![]() Anwah, Berger Post Regional Marks At Duke Invitational

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - University of Maryland track and field traveled to Durham, N.C. this weekend for the Duke/Asics Invitational held at Duke University's Wallace Wade Stadium. Competition wrapped up Saturday with several top Maryland performances. Junior Jillian Anwah (Centreville, Va.) had a season best and NCAA Regional-qualifying mark of 157-8 in the discus throw to finish in fourth place. Senior Zakiya Shivers (Baltimore, Md.) posted an ECAC-qualifying mark of 144-0 to finish in tenth. Junior Aysha Gregory (Wilmington, Del.) had a season-best mark of 137-8 in the event. Ashley Williams was the top finisher for Maryland in the shot put, posting an ECAC-qualifying mark of 45-1 to finish fifth. Sophomore Chanel Williams (Plymouth Meeting, Pa.) earned the fifth seed in the final for the 100-meter hurdles with a prelim time of 14.82. Williams finished third in the final for the event with a time of 14.66. Junior Toni Aluko (Burtonsville, Md.) topped her season best in the long jump to finish in 12th place (17-6.75) and in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, freshman Kristin Reed (Pennsburg, Pa.) had a season-best time of 11:26.30. The women's 4x100 relay team ran a season best and ECAC-qualifying time of 47.41 to finish second in the event. Meanwhile, the men's 4x400 relay team ran a season best and IC4A-qualifying time of 3:15.80 to place fourth. On the men's side, Junior Dominic Berger (Mitchelville, Md.) finished second in the final for the 110-meter hurdles with an NCAA Regional-qualifying time of 14.13 after earning the third seed with his prelim time of 14.30.
Junior Earl Gray (Marlboro, N.J.) ran an IC4A-qualifying time in the 200-meter dash (21.74) to finish fourth and sophomore Devin Regan (Annapolis, Md.) finished in 11th with a season-best time of 22.46. Junior Sean Lowe (Jamaica, N.Y.) took fourth in the 400-meter dash with an IC4A-qualifying time of 48.07. Sophomore Sal Delhierro (Toms River, N.J.) had a season-best mark of 45-10.5 in the shot put to finish 16th in the event and freshman Greg Kelsey (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) had a season-best time in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:28.59).
