DURHAM, N.C. -

Complete Results

The Wake Forest men's and women's track and field teams finished up the Duke Invitational on Saturday with a flurry of victories in the relay events.  The Deacs carded wins in both the men's 4x100-meter relay as well as the 4x800-meter relay to end the meet on a positive note.

The 4x100m team of Kevin Marion, Eric Seely, Michael Bingham and Tyler Dodds won the race in a time of 40.83.  The result was barely off of the regional-qualifying standard of 40.66.

Also placing first in its race was the 4x800m team of Lee Bailey, Nicholas Lepley, Matthew Owen and Keaton Morgan.  They ran a collective time of 7:50.44 for the victory.

Marion also had a tremendous day in the long jump pit, placing second in the event with a leap of 24-2 1/2 into a strong headwind.  The jump also surpassed the regional mark of 24-1, making him the 11th Deacon qualifier for the NCAA East Regional Championships in May.

The Deacs also had top eight finishes from freshman Thomas Sensing and senior Lindsay Neuberger.  Sensing placed seventh in the discus with a toss of 148-6 while Neuberger finished third in the shot put with a heave of 45-8.

Wake will return to action next weekend for both the Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville, Tenn., as well as the Carolina Fast Times in Chapel Hill, N.C.
