The Lady Tiger track & field team finished fourth at the Clemson Invitational on Saturday at the school's indoor facility. Clemson finished with 78 points. North Carolina won the meet with 124 points, while Charlotte (107) was runner-up and Miami (93) finished in third place.

Ra'Sheena Parker placed eighth in the 60m finals with a time of 7.67, while Kristine Scott had the 15th-best time of the afternoon at 7.82. Polly Hardy was fourth in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.67, while Krystal Barringer was seventh place (8.82). In the 200m dash, Scott placed sixth with a time of 25.44, while Parker was ninth in 25.52 seconds.

Sierra Hill was fifth to pace the Lady Tigers' effort in the 400m, as she posted a time of 58.25. Ope Sobanjo was Clemson's next best finisher in that event, crossing the finish line in 59.14, which was good enough for 13th place. In the 800m, Thea Dix was the runner-up with a time of 2:17.08, her season-best time in that event. Patrice McMillan was seventh (2:19.59), while Candice Johnson was ninth (2:20.78) for Clemson.

Laura Laughlin was 10th in the mile run with a time of 5:17.95, while Lisa Brown turned in a time of 5:44.91. In the 3000m, Lauren Marriott led the way in 15th with a time of 11:02.51.

The 4x400m relay team of Sierra Hill, Thea Dix, Polly Hardy, and Patrice McMillan finished with a time of 3:49.93. The squad was third-fastest overall, and it marked the best time of the young indoor season for Marcia Noad's team. The Lady Tigers' B team of Ope Sobanjo, Michaylin Golladay, Nakeisha Wineglass, and Ashley Good was 11th overall at 4:03.72.

Katie Farnan cleared a personal best in the high jump at 5'5", which was good enough for a sixth-place finish for the sophomore from Douglasville, GA. Anni Korhonen cleared 5'3" and was 10th, while Linda Buchholz tied for 13th.

Beth Jordan finished third in the pole vault, while Caroline Kennedy was fourth. Both cleared 11'11.75". That moved Kennedy into a tie for fifth place in Clemson's indoor record books in the pole vault. Helen Kirkland was tied for sixth with a clearance of 10'11.75".

Patricia Mamona was runner-up in the triple jump for Clemson. The native of Lisbon, Portugal hit a mark of 41'7.25", which was her second NCAA provisional qualifying effort in as many meets for the Lady Tigers. Nakeisha Wineglass scored in the triple jump as well, after putting together a leap of 39'4".

Della Clark was 10th overall in the shot put after she had a throw of 42'10". Buchholz, a newcomer to the team, had a toss of 38'7".

Clemson returns to action next weekend for the multi-event challenge at the indoor track & field complex.
