Maryland's Eric Cullen Named ACC Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Maryland senior Eric Cullen has been selected the Atlantic Coast Conference Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week. Cullen won an event in the Terrapins' dual meet against Navy on Tuesday. The Maryland senior also registered a pair of second place finishes.
Cullen, a native of Severn, Maryland, swam in four events in the final dual meet of the 2008 calendar year for the Terrapins. The meet was held in Navy's Lejune Hall 25-meter pool. He took a win in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.15) and a runner-up finish in the 200 breaststroke (2:19.33) to buoy the Terps in the 111-159 loss to the Midshipmen. He also had a second place finish in the 200 individual medley (2:11.13) and a second place finish in the 200 medley relay (1:44.21).
The Terrapins return to the pool with a quad meet against Villanova, Pittsburgh and Penn State on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 16-17. Sessions, to be held at the Campus Recreation Center will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. on Saturday.
