Virginia's Karasek and Cavalier Named Performers of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia senior David Karasek has been named the ACC Swimming & Diving Men’s Performer of the Week, announced by the conference on Tuesday. Virginia junior Meredith Cavalier was named the Women’s Performer of the Week.
Karasek was a finalist in three individual events at the Georgia invite which featured five ranked teams and three top 10 squads. The Meisterschwanden, Switzerland, native posted NCAA B qualifying times with third place finishes in the 200 IM and the 200 Freestyle, and swam on two relays, the 400 and 800 Free Relay, both of which finished with NCAA B times.
Cavalier swam in three individual and four relay events, all seven of which qualified with NCAA B times. In the 200 Back, she swam a new personal-best 1:54.09, which sets a new mark as the fastest time in the conference this season. The Stafford, Va., native also set a new conference low with a 52.67 in the 100 Back.
