![]() Tar Heels Add Four Signees To Women's Swimming & Diving Class
June 9, 2004 CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The North Carolina women's swimming and diving program finished its 2003-04 recruiting Wednesday with the announcement of four more prospective student-athletes who will enroll in August 2004. This brings the total number in the Class of 2008 to eight student-athletes. Coach Frank Comfort announced the following prospects have agreed to become Tar Heels -- Samantha Deal of Boone, N.C., Lindsay Donald of Glenview, Ky., Jennifer Keith of Matthews, N.C., and Erika Metheis of Webster, N.Y. This group joins an outstanding fall 2003 recruiting class that included Karen Gately of Sudbury, Mass., Lindsey Marck of Newtown, Pa., Kelsey Morrissy of Horsham, Pa., and Kelly Woodruff of Shoreline, Wash. Erika Metheis of Webster, N.Y. is a high school All-America in diving and graduate of Webster Schroeder High School. She was New York state one-meter runnerup in diving in both 2002 and 2003. Samantha Deal hails from Boone, N.C., where she attended Watauga High School. She swam for the Watauga Swim Team under coach Stephanie McDaniel. Deal's top event is the 100-yard breaststroke where she had a top time of 1:06.73. Lindsay Donald is a freestyler from Glenview, Ky. She swam for Coach Mike DeBoor at the Lakeside Swim Club. Her top times are 24.67 in the 50-yard freestyle, 52.11 in the 100-yard freestyle, 1:52.09 in the 200-yard freestyle and 5:04.75 in the 500-yard freestyle.
Jennifer Keith is a Matthews, N.C. native where she attended Providence High School. Keith swam for Coach Dave Gibson at the Mecklenburg Aquatic Club. Her top times were 1:06.32 in the 100-yard breaststroke and 2:22.69 in the 200-yard breaststroke.
