Virginia's Martin, Duke's Schwartz Earn ACC Swimming Weekly Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Virginia freshman Natalie Martin and Duke senior Evan Schwartz have been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Female and Male Swimmers of the Week, announced Tuesday by the conference office.
Martin swept the breaststroke events at the Cavalier Invite over the weekend, the final meet before this week’s ACC Championship. The native of Haymarket, Va., posted the 10th-best time in the conference in the 100 breast prelims with a time of 1:03.40 before winning the finals, finishing in 1:03.45. In the 200 breast, she touched the wall in 2:16.11 to rank eighth in the conference.
Schwartz recorded personal bests in three events at the Cavalier Invite with two first place finishes. His winning time of 55.41 in the 100 breast ranks ninth in the ACC season. In the 200 breaststroke, the native of Cincinnati, Ohio, finished in 2:01.24 to win the event and add a second top-10 time in the ACC.
