Georgia Tech's Nevo and Virginia Tech's Milton Earn ACC Swimming and Diving Weekly Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Georgia Tech senior Gal Nevo and Virginia Tech junior were named Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week, respectively, for the period ending January 17. Nevo won three events in leading the Yellow Jackets to victory over NC State, while Milton broke a school diving record in the Hokies’ win against Davidson. In Georgia Tech’s first meet since November 22, Nevo won three individual events, as Georgia Tech claimed a 167-131 ACC victory over NC State (Jan. 16). Nevo took first place in the 200-yard butterfly (1:48.90), 200-yard breaststroke (2:03.71), and the 400-yard individual medley (3:58.87). For the season, the Kibbutz Hamadia, Israel, native holds the eighth, seventh, and third-best times, respectively, in each event.
Both Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech return to the pool on Saturday, January 23 when the Yellow Jackets host Florida State and the Hokies in the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center at 12 p.m. The ACC Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Performers of the Week will be announced by 5 p.m. each Tuesday during the season.
