Clemson Swimming and Diving Takes Down Rival South Carolina
The Clemson men's and women's swimming and diving teams edged out South Carolina to take the wins. Clemson's men won with a score of 160-140 and the women won 155-145. It came down to the final event, the 400 free relay, for both the men's and women's teams and Clemson came away with victories for both sides. With the win, the Clemson men improve to 3-1 (0-1 ACC) and the women move to 5-0 (2-0 ACC). South Carolina's men fall to 1-3 and the women to 0-4.

Clemson started the meet off strong by winning both the 200 medley relays. The women's team of Kelli Kyle, Katrina Obas, Maddie Tarantolo, and Meg Anderson won for the women with a time of 1:43.21 which was three seconds faster than the second place team. The men's group of Thomas Recko, Chris Dart, Derek Barre, ad Eric Bruck finished with a time of 1:31.91 to claim the victory.

Sophomore Kelli Kyle then got a win for the Tigers in the 100 backstroke finishing at 56.54. Seniors Thomas Recko and Jason Chatlosh then tied for first in the 100 back on the men's side with a time of 50.86.

UNC Swimmers Share The Wealth At NCAC Meet
Five different University of North Carolina swimmers won individual events Friday night as the Tar Heel swimming program hosted the North Carolina Aquatic Club Tar Heel Invitational Mile Meet at the Maurice J. Koury Natatorium in Chapel Hill. The 10-event program featured two relays each for men and women as well as individual events in the 50 free, 400 IM and 1650 free.

The evening began with the North Carolina "A" relay of Sarah Tanner, Eliza Butts, Katie Nolan and Katura Harvey snaring the win in the 200-yard freestyle relay at 1:35.95. On the men's side, the UNC quartet of Steve Cebertowicz, Evan Reed, Brad Hamilton and Jeff James touched first in 1:24.84.


 

 

In the other relay event, the women's winners at the 200-yard medley distance were the unit of Carly Smith, Katie Marsh, Sarah Tanner and Eliza Butts with a clocking of 1:45.41. On the men's side, the relay quartet of Jim Flannery, Will Colbert, Drew

Georgia Tech Falls at Duke, Women Beat Houston
The Georgia Tech swimming & diving teams dropped a pair of meets at Duke this evening, as the Blue Devils were victorious on the men's side, 171-128.5 and on the women's side, 178-120. The women's squad, however, beat Houston 179-119.

With the loss, the Yellow Jacket men's team falls to 3-3 (1-1 in ACC meets), while the women's squad is now 4-3-1 (0-2 in ACC). The first event of the night was the women's one meter dive, as Georgia Tech's Hannah Krimm had a 271.50 effort to finish third.

Next up in the 400-yard medley relay, the team of, Ilia Ayzenshtok, Matthew Vaughan, Eric Chiu and Garrett Robberson hit the wall in 3:27.93 to finish second.

Georgia Tech Swimming & Diving Falls at North Carolina

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The Georgia Tech swimming & diving teams lost at North Carolina on Saturday afternoon in ACC action. The Tar Heels knocked off the Tech men's team, 166.5-119.5 and the Yellow Jacket women 165-128.

With the loss, the Yellow Jacket men's team fell to 3-4 (1-2 in ACC meets), while the women's squad drops to 4-4-1 (0-2 in ACC).

The first event of the day was the women's 200-medley relay as the team of Heidi Hatteberg, Lisa Pucci, Christine Chuang and Agatha Kwasnik finished just behind the team from North Carolina with a 1:46.35 performance. For the men, the squad of Way Joe Lee, Jeremy Jackson, Sullivan Lynch and Nigel Plummer also placed second, hitting the wall in 1:32.38.

Tar Heels Roll Past Georgia Tech In Halloween Matinee

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - After swimming in the NCAC Mile Meet last night, the Tar Heel swimming and diving teams defeated Georgia Tech at Koury Natatorium Halloween morning. The men's team improved to 5-0, while the women picked up another win to go to 4-1. The UNC women defeated the Yellow Jackets 165-128 and the Tar Heel men won 166.5-119.5.

Both teams remain undefeated in the ACC with 2-0 conference marks. There were several races where the Tar Heels went 1-2-3, highlighting the depth on the Carolina rosters this season.

On the women's side, Katie Keel dominated the breaststroke events, winning both the 100-yard breast and the 200. Katura Harvey was also a double event winner in the 200-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle.

NC State's Women’s Swim & Dive Sweeps Tri-Meet

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State women’s swimming and diving team beat both Campbell (217-60) and Richmond (181-102) in a tri-meet at Casey Natatorium on Saturday, Oct. 31. The victories push the Wolfpack to 3-1 (1-1 ACC) on the young season.

Wolfpack swimmers and divers placed first in 11 of 16 events on the day, culminating in 13 top-3 times/scores for the year.

Pack relays competed in both the 200-medley and 200-freestyle relays for the first time on the year, recording the best time on the day in both events. Morgan Robertson, Meg Thompson, Patrice Dason and Ashley Richter won the 200-medley with a 1:45.97, while Allison Hendren, Brianna Grover, Erica Waters and Richter’s 1:36.44 was the top time in the 200-freestyle relay.

17 titles lift H2Okies to pair of victories over Penn State

BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia Tech men and women saw top finishes from 11 different individuals, setting two new pool records en route to a pair of victories on Breast Cancer Awareness Day at War Memorial Pool on Saturday. The H2Okie men defeated the Nittany Lions, 184-116, while the Tech women added a 160-140 victory, combining for 17 first-place finishes.

Charlie Higgins, Jonathan Huss, Gregory Mahon and Richard Ulatowski opened action for the H2Okies with a first-place finish in a close 200 medley relay race in 1:31.18. The women placed second in the 200 medley relay in 1:44.71, earning a new season-best time for the H2Okies.

Tech then earned victories in the next four competitions, including both 1000 free and 200 free events. The women went 1-2 in the 1000 free, with Erika Hajnal taking first (9:58.46) and Lauren Ritter taking second (10:01.18). The men also finished 1-2, with Philip LaRosa leading the way in 9:26.99, followed by Blake Trabuchi-Downey in 9:33.29. Kelly deMarrais earned the title in the women’s 200 free with a time of 1:50.36, while Bryan Uncur took first for the men in 1:40.43, marking a season-best time for the H2Okies.
