NC State Swimming & Diving Sweeps Miami, UMBC

RALEIGH, N.C. – Both the NC State men and women’s swimming and diving programs got off to solid starts in their season openers on Saturday, Oct. 11, shutting out Miami and UMBC. The men defeated the Retrievers (157-85), while the women toppled both UMBC (187-50) and its ACC foe (144-99).

The men move to 1-0 (0-0 ACC) on the young season, while the women stand at 2-0 (1-O ACC).

    Florida State Men's Swimming And Diving Defeat Alabama In First Home Meet

    TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- The Florida State men’s swimming and diving team christened the Morcom Aquatic Center on Saturday with a victory against Alabama 179.5-120.5 while the women were defeated 157-143.

    “Our teams really battled today,” FSU head coach Neil Harper said. “We are excited with the way both the men and women are responding to their training. We are working them hard and they are still able to get out there and race fast against a good team like Alabama.”

    Tigers and Yellow Jackets Split in ACC Swimming and Diving Action

    CLEMSON, S.C. - The Men's and women's swimming and diving teams split with Georgia Tech on Friday evening, with the Tiger women winning 187-110 and the Tech men winning 172-126. The women won every swimming race on the night, a perfect 14 for 14 in moving to 2-0 (1-0 ACC). The men suffered their first loss of the season and sit at 1-1 (0-1 ACC).

    "We were obviously very excited by what we saw on the women's side," said Tiger head coach Christopher Ip. "Our men were very close and really hung around in their first taste of ACC competition. We were extremely happy to see the support by the fans in our Solid Orange meet."
