ACC 50th Anniversary Women's Indoor/Outdoor Track and Field Teams

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Atlantic Coast Conference 50th Anniversary Women's Indoor Track & Field Team was announced today by Commissioner John Swofford. The 51-member team was voted on by the nine league institutions as decided by the league's 50th Anniversary Committee.

North Carolina led all league schools with 15 members on the Golden Anniversary team while Clemson was second with nine honorees. Virginia had seven runners selected, followed by Georgia Tech (6), Florida State (5), Maryland and Wake Forest with three apiece, NC State (2), and Duke with one.

The ACC's 50th Anniversary Women's Indoor Track & Field team, in alphabetical order, is as follows:

Natasha Alleyne, Georgia Tech (1988-1991)
Alleyne was Tech's first individual national champion, claiming the 1992 NCAA high jump title ... also won the ACC title in the high jump that season ... earned All-ACC and All-America honors as a senior ... holds Tech's indoor records in the high jump (6'2.25") and triple jump (41'9.75").

Ayo Atterberry, North Carolina (1991-1994)
All-American in 55-yard hurdles in 1993 and 1994 ... ACC champion in the 55-yard hurdles in 1993 and 1994.

Kim Austin, North Carolina (1987-1990)
All-American triple jumper in 1989 and 1990 ... 1990 All-American for the long jump and 55-meter hurdles ... ACC champion 60-yard hurdles in 1987 and the 55-meter hurdles and triple jump in 1989 ... ACC triple jump champion in 1990.

1992 ACC Indoor Championships Most Valuable Performer ... six-time ACC Champion ... 1993 All-American in the 200m with an eighth-place finish ... won the 55m at the conference meet in 1991 and 1992 ... claimed the 200m in 1991, 1992 and 1993 at the ACC meet, ranks fourth on Clemson's all-time list in the f55m (6.85) and in the 200m (23.57).

Kathy Harrison, Georgia Tech (1986-1987)
Harrison was the ACC indoor long jump champion with a leap of 20'4" in 1987. That season she also earned all-conference honors in the 60 yards and 600 yards, claiming the '87 ACC Indoor Track MVP award. She qualified for the NCAA Championships in three events that season.

Karen Hartmann, Clemson (1992-1995)
