Wake Forest’s Young Named ACC Men’s Golfer of the Month

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Wake Forest’s Cameron Young has been named the ACC Men’s Golfer of the Month for October.

Young helped lead the Demon Deacons to two tournament titles, both against elite fields at the Nike Collegiate Invitational and the U.S. Collegiate Championship. The freshman from Scarborough, New York, won his first two collegiate individual titles at the U.S. Collegiate Championship and the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational.

Young is the first Wake Forest golfer to win two individual titles in the fall since Bill Haas in 2003, the first to win in consecutive weeks since Haas in 2002-03, and the first to win in consecutive weeks as a freshman since Curtis Strange in 1973-74.
