ACC Women’s Soccer: Virginia’s Danielle Colaprico Named ACC Player of the Week


Senior midfielder tallied eight points in wins over Boston College and NC State

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Virginia senior midfielder Danielle Colaprico has been named the ACC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week, announced Tuesday by the league.

Colaprico led the Cavaliers to a pair of wins over Boston College (6-3) and NC State (6-0) as Virginia became the first ACC team to score at least six goals in consecutive conference games since 2008. The Freehold, New Jersey, native registered four points on a goal and two assists in both contests. Colaprico’s goal in the 63rd minute against Boston College gave the Cavaliers a 5-3 cushion en route to the win. She tallied the Hoos’ fourth goal in their shutout of the Wolfpack.

Colaprico leads the ACC with 11 assists for the season and has 36 for her career.

Virginia, which holds steady at No. 5 in the latest Soccer America Top 25 released on Tuesday, is one of six ACC teams ranked in the poll and one of three in the Top 10 (No. 2 Florida State, No. 5 Virginia, No. 6 North Carolina, No. 11 Notre Dame, No. 14 Virginia Tech and No. 24 Clemson).
