GREENSBORO, N.C. – Twenty ACC players were selected on Friday in the 2016 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. In addition to the 11 players selected on Wednesday, 31 players have now been drafted in the first two days.
Thirteen of the 14 ACC baseball programs have had at least one player selected in the first 10 rounds. Louisville leads all ACC programs with seven players drafted, followed by Miami with four and three from Clemson, North Carolina, NC State, and Virginia.
The ACC has had at least 40 players drafted 10 straight years, including 50 or more in nine of the past 10. The league record stands at 65, set in 2014.
The 2016 MLB Draft will conclude on Saturday with rounds 11-40 starting at noon.
