Twelve Named Perfect Game Preseason All-Americans

Six named to first team

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Twelve Atlantic Coast Conference baseball players have been named to the 2015 Perfect Game Preseason All-America Teams. The players are selected based on a balance of past performance, 2015 expectations and their prospective talent relative to the MLB Draft.

The eight ACC teams represented is the most from any conference, while the 12 preseason All-Americans from the league are the second most in the nation.

The ACC contingent is led by six players on the first team: Boston College OF Chris Shaw, Florida State OF D.J. Stewart, Louisville SP Kyle Funkhouser, Miami C Zack Collins, NC State 3B Andrew Knizner, and Virginia SP Nathan Kirby.

Virginia OF Joe McCarthy was named to the second team, while Clemson C Chris Okey and OF Steven Duggar, Duke SP Michael Matuella, Miami RP Bryan Garcia, and Virginia SP Brandon Waddell garnered third-team accolades.
