Syracuse’s Hurff Earns ACC Weekly Honor

Freshman scored three goals over the weekend

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Syracuse freshman midfielder Laura Hurff has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week.

Hurff tallied three goals to lead the Orange to two wins in back-to-back days over the weekend. On Saturday against No. 5 Louisville, she set a career-high with two goals, including the game winner. Syracuse defeated the Cardinals, 3-1, for its first ACC win of the year. 

On Sunday, the native of Newark, Delaware, scored her fourth of the season in a 5-0 win over Cornell. Hurff’s four goals have all come in the last four games.
