Syracuse’s Christmas Named Most Improved By ACC Coaches

Orange standout upped scoring average by nearly 12 points per game in 2014-15

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Syracuse forward Rakeem Christmas has been selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference’s Most Improved Player in a vote of the league’s 15 head coaches.

Christmas led the league in scoring improvement from last season, upping his output by 11.7 points per game to rank third in the ACC in scoring at 17.5 points per game. In addition, the 6-foot-9 senior from Philadelphia is second in the ACC with 2.5 blocked shots per game and fifth in field goal percentage (.552) while pulling down 9.1 rebounds per contest. He scored in double figures in 29 of 31 games and posted 12 double-doubles.

Christmas is a finalist for the John Wooden Award, the Oscar Robertson Trophy and the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award.
