Seeds Set for the 2013 ACC Women's Tennis Championship

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Top-ranked North Carolina is the No. 1 seed for the 2013 ACC Women’s Tennis Championship, which gets under way Thursday, April 25 at Cary (N.C.) Tennis Park.

The top-seeded Tar Heels (24-2, 10-1 ACC) will be going after their seventh ACC title, and are one of seven ACC teams among the top 25 in the latest ITA national rankings. North Carolina will open tournament play against the winner of the 8/9 match between NC State and Boston College. Also receiving first round byes are No. 2 seed Clemson (14-6, 9-2), No. 3 seed Virginia (16-8, 9-2) and No. 4 seed Miami (17-5, 8-3).

The tournament will also include five of the nation’s top 30 singles players in North Carolina’s Gina Suarez-Malaguti (No. 9), Virginia’s Julia Elbaba (No. 12), Clemson’s Yana Koroleva (No. 18) and Anne-Liz Jeukeng (No. 27), and Duke’s Hannah Mar (No. 18).
