Caroline Price Named ACC Women's Tennis Player of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – North Carolina sophomore Caroline Price has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week, announced Tuesday by the league office.

Price went 4-0 in singles and doubles while helping the No. 1 Tar Heels to a pair of 4-3 road wins over No. 40 NC State and No. 11 Northwestern.

The Duluth, Ga., native teamed with Whitney Kay at No. 1 doubles to defeat NC State’s Joelle Kissell and Tatiana Illova, 8-5, and clinch the doubles point. In singles action against the Wolfpack, Price dominated at No. 5 and took down Chloe Smith, 6-0, 6-1.

Three days later in Evanston, Ill., Price and Kay began the day upending  Northwestern’s eighth-ranked duo of Linda Abu Mushrevofa and Nida Hamilton in a tiebreak, 9-8 (6), at the No. 1 position to clinch the doubles point. Price moved to the No. 4 singles slot against the Wildcats and earned a 6-3, 6-3 win over Alicia Barnett to extend her unbeaten singles record to 15-0.
