GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia sophomore Lindsey Hardenbergh has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week after leading the Cavaliers to a pair of season-opening victories, including a hard-fought 4-3 decision over 33rd-ranked Illinois.

Against Illinois, Hardenbergh recorded one of her biggest wins of her career, beating #33 Rachael White in straight sets 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1. The Fairfax Station, Va., native followed with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Erin Clark as Virginia blanked Richmond, 7-0.

Hardenbergh also went 2-0 in doubles with Erin Vierra, helping the Cavaliers win the doubles point in both matches, which proved crucial in the 4-3 win over Illinois.
