Coral Gables, Fla. - No. 18 Miami (8-3) looked strong in clinching the doubles point, and secured all six spots in singles play, to collect a 7-0 victory over visiting No. 72 TCU (1-10) on Monday afternoon at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center in Coral Gables, Fla. For the Hurricanes, this marked their fifth straight win, and their third consecutive by a 7-0 margin.
Miami kicked off the day with its doubles pair of Gabriela Mejia and Danielle Mills taking down Nina Munch-Soegaard and Maria Babanova in the No. 2 spot. The Hurricanes' team of Bianca Eichkorn and Laura Vallverdu followed that up on court one, earning an 8-1 triumph over the Horned Frogs' Katariina Tuohimaa and Kayla Duncan at one doubles.
Mejia and Mills remain perfect together on the year, improving to 4-0, while the team of Eichkorn and Vallverdu raised its record to 3-1 - winning three consecutive at this point.
Charleston, S.C. - The No. 42 NC State women's tennis team swept No. 67 College of Charleston 7-0 on Monday, March 15.
The Wolfpack began the day on a high note by taking the doubles point. Daria Petrovic teamed with Diana Mortlock to beat Caroline Newman and Keely Mulligan 8-3. Lenka Hojckova and Tana Illova continued their solid play together by winning 8-4 over Kinsey Casey and Irene Viana. Berkeley Brock and Sandhya Nagaraj fell 8-5 to Holly Dowse and Emma Hayman with the point already decided.
Illova was the first to finish singles with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Evans. Brock took care of business by beating Newman 6-3, 6-1.
