GREENSBORO, N.C. – Georgia Tech sophomore right fielder Katie Johnsky has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Softball Player of the Week, as announced Tuesday by the conference.
Johnsky led Georgia Tech to a three-game series sweep over Boston College over the weekend. A native of Sarasota, Fla., Johnsky went 6-for-11 (.545) with seven RBIs on six hits and scored three runs. She connected on two doubles and a pair of two-run home runs for 14 total bases and a slugging percentage of 1.273.
The 2013 ACC Softball Championship gets underway Thursday, May 9, at JoAnne Graf Field in Tallahassee, Fla., with quarterfinal games set for 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 5 p.m., and 7:30 p.m. The semifinals are scheduled for Friday at 1 and 3:30 p.m., and the championship game will be held on Saturday at 6 p.m.
