Jan. 23, 2012

GREENSBORO, N.C. – At least 14 ACC softball games, a new record for the conference, are scheduled to be on an ESPN platform or on the ACC’s Regional Sports Network (RSN) during the 2012 season.

The television schedule, which starts on April 1 with a North Carolina and Florida State doubleheader, features seven conference games during the regular season.

For the first time, all seven games of the ACC Championship on May 10-12 in Chapel Hill, N.C., will be on television. The four quarterfinal games on the first day of the tournament will be split between RSN and ESPN3. Both of the semifinals will be on RSN, and the ACC Championship will be on ESPN2.

RSN, which reaches up to 24 million households, includes Fox Sports South, Sun Sports, Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic, and NESN. All ACC games on RSN will also be available on ESPN3 in locations beyond the RSN territory.

In addition to the events announced Monday, other games may be carried by the ACC Digital Network and by the regional cable partners of various ACC institutions. A complete listing of those games will be announced at a later date.
