Terps Beat #18 Oklahoma State
The Maryland softball team won both of its games Friday in the University of South Florida's The Game tournament in Tampa. The Terps rallied to beat No. 18 Oklahoma State 2-1 in their first game of the day, then beat Florida Gulf Coast 3-0 in the second.

In game one against the Cowgirls, junior Kerry Hickey recorded 12 strikeouts in her 7.0 inning performance to pace the Terps. Four Terrapins got hits in the game, including Hickey and sophomore Vangie Galindo.

The Cowgirls struck first, scoring in the top of the fourth inning when Alysia Hamilton scored on a passed ball.

Cavaliers Fall to Fresno State, 1-0
The Virginia softball team (13-10) fell 1-0 to Fresno State Friday as play continued at the Judi Garman Invitational in Fullerton, Calif.

The Bulldogs (18-10) scored their lone run of Cavalier starter Melanie Mitchell in the top of the fourth inning. Michelle Moses led off the stanza with a single to left and took second on a UVa error. She moved to third on a sacrifice bunt and came into score on Lisamarie Coronado's RBI single to center.

Virginia and Fresno State each finished the game with three hits. Nicole Koren, Alison Pittman and Taylor Williams each had singles for the Orange and Blue.

'Noles Lose To Texas Tech
The No. 19 Florida State softball team lost to Texas Tech, 2-1, Friday night in Clearwater, Fla. at the USF The Game Tournament.

The offensive woes continued for the Seminoles (24-6) as they generated just one run a night after falling to Auburn in extra innings by a score of 1-0.

Against the Red Raiders (26-3), FSU managed five hits but couldn't come up with timely hits when it mattered most. Friday's outcome marked the first back-to-back defeats for the 'Noles all year long.
