GREENSBORO, N.C. - Virginia senior forward Caroline Miller has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week, announced by conference officials on Tuesday.
It is the second consecutive week Miller has been honored by the league as she was named ACC Co-Player of the Week on Oct. 23.
Miller led the Cavaliers to a 5-1 win over No. 21/22 Boston College on Oct. 25. Miller registered a team-high three points in the victory, which helped Virginia to finish the regular season with 6-3-1 ACC record. The Rockville, Md., native provided the game-winning assist on Emily Sonnett’s goal in the 50th minute and then scored Virginia’s third goal nine minutes later.
Miller finished conference play with an ACC-high 23 points on a league-best 10 goals and three assists.
Miller and the Cavaliers are one of four teams who advanced to the ACC Championship Semifinals in Cary, N.C., on Nov. 2. No. 5 seed Virginia will meet No. 1 seed Florida State in the first semifinal at 5 p.m., while No. 2 seed Maryland will play No. 3 seed Wake Forest in the second semifinal at 7:30 p.m. Both games will be streamed live on ESPN3. The winners of those two games will play for the ACC Championship and the league’s automatic berth in the NCAA Championship on Sunday, Nov. 4, at 1 p.m.
