GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) - Virginia senior forward Caroline Miller and Boston College sophomore forward Stephanie McCaffrey have been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Soccer Co-Players of the Week, announced by conference officials on Tuesday.
Miller led the Cavaliers to an undefeated week while scoring three goals and adding an assist in a 5-0 win at No. 22 Virginia Tech on Oct. 21. The seven points tied a school record for individual points in a match and her hat trick, second of her career, was the first in ACC play this season.
With 27 points on 12 goals and three assists for the season, Miller stands third on Virginia's career goals list (37) and sixth on its point chart (89).
McCaffrey played a role in two of Boston College's three goals in a 1-0-1 week, which included a 3-2 upset of No. 1 and then undefeated Florida State on Oct. 18. McCaffrey set up the Eagles' first goal to tie the game 1-1 and then scored in the 67th minute to put BC ahead, 2-1. It was the Eagles' first win over Florida State in 11 games.
McCaffrey is the Eagles' second-leading scorer with 24 points on nine goals and six assists, and has complied nine points in the last three games.
ACC Championship seeding will be solidified this week as regular season action comes to a close. Virginia Tech will play at Wake Forest on Wednesday, Oct. 24, while North Carolina travels to NC State, Virginia hosts Boston College and Florida State plays at Miami on Thursday, Oct. 25.
