GREENSBORO, N.C. - Florida State sophomore midfielder Dagny Brynjarsdottir has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week, announced by conference officials on Tuesday.
Brynjarsdottir scored two game-winning goals as the top-ranked Seminoles moved to 11-0-0 (4-0-0 ACC) following wins at No. 13/9 North Carolina (1-0) and at NC State (2-0).
Against North Carolina, Brynjarsdottir tallied the game’s only goal in the 61st minute as Florida State defeated the Tar Heels for the second straight time. On Sept. 30, the Hella, Iceland, native came through to break the scoreless tie in the 15th minute against the Wolfpack , which served as the game winner for FSU.
Brynjarsdottir owns 11 points on four goals and three assists this season. Three of her four goals have been game winners.
ACC action resumes on Thursday, Oct. 4 with three games, including Boston College at North Carolina live on Regional Sports Networks.
