ACC to be Represented at US U23 Training Camp

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Seven Atlantic Coast Conference women’s soccer players are among the 21 players called to train with the United States Under-23 Women’s National Team and will travel to the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., for training camp April 13-20, as announced by head coach Randy Waldrum this week.

The ACC representatives on the roster are Duke defender Mollie Pathman, Florida State goalkeeper Kelsey Wys and defender Kassey Kallman, North Carolina forward Kealia Ohai, Virginia midfielder Morgan Brian and defender Emily Sonnett, and Wake Forest forward Katie Stengel.

The roster features 10 players from the U.S. team that won the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Japan, including Brian, Kallman, Pathman, Stengel, and Ohai, who scored in both the semifinal and the World Cup Final, notching the game-winner in the 1-0 victory against Germany.

The camp will be held concurrently with the U.S. Under-20 Women’s National Team Camp. The two squads will scrimmage each other on April 16 at 10 a.m. PT and on April 19 at 4 p.m. PT.
